This 11-c is based on the Matheus Pocht’s 1519 bowl and JG Edlinger’s 1692 conversion to an 11-c lute. 72cm string length, this lute is Alpine Spruce top, Indian Rosewood ribs. The shape and proportions are very much from the same “school” as Frei and Maler but indeed different: Longer than the Frei but wider shoulders than the Maler. A wonderful instrument for French and early Weiss.
